North Olympic Coast, WA

There's something about the sunset at the Beach. This HDR was taken through a lovely cumulus cloud pattern showing the heavens descending upon us. f/2.8, IS 100, 24mm

Fort Worden, WA

Sometimes you step out of the car for a quick peak, and you encounter nature at its best. To the left is Fort Worden. To the right is Puget Sound. The fog layer that quickly obscured the horizon was thick and short lived. 1/800 sec at f/7.1, ISO 100, 24mm

Dungeness Spit, WA

On the horizon, you can see the lighthouse of Dungeness Spit. Taken at dawn, this HDR was captured during low tide and with a tripod. One of the most peaceful moments of my life. f/3.5, ISO 100, 18mm

Minot Light, MA

It is still amazing that this lighthouse, nearly a mile offshore is still standing. The narrow staircase on the right side shows the entrance. You can imagine the storms this has seen. 1/500 sec at f/5.6, ISO 200, 105mm

Sea Lion Rock

Emerging waterside on the Cannon Beach Trail in Ecola State Park, we were greeted by Sea Lion Rock.

Haystack Rock, OR

It was actually cloudy when we reached the beach. I set up my tripod at the edge of the water, and waited. Just before sunset, the clouds parted and lit up the face of the rock. The photo was accented by the seagull and little girl playing in the foreground. 1/10 sec at f/32, ISO 100, 62mm

The French Riviera has such a passion that it's hard to describe. The brightly colored buildings are contrasted by the deep blue water. You could easily lose yourself here, as many have. 1/125 sec at f/14, ISO 100, 18mm

Windy Beach

This was blue hour with the moon out to light the beach. So windy! The energy of the sea and sky is juxtaposed with the stillness of the beach.

Beach Path

The brightly lit pathway to the beach bekons at night! It was a superwindy day - you can see some sand on the lens accumulate during the course of the shot. Moonlit night.
