Deadwood

Walking along a limb of the Rhein river near Ingelheim, we came across this deadwood at the top of a gentle slope. In places, the wood had been water-sanded, and in others, remained in a raw bark state. The contrast is brought out in black and white. 1/125 sec at f/16, ISO 800, 150mm

Aspen Forest

Reflections of Sunset

This series was taken mid-lake with moderate zoom and the aperture stopped down. I kept shooting, and didn't realize until I saw these on my screen how lovely they were! Each reflection of the setting sun has its very own starburst! 1/1000 sec at f/22, ISO 100, 175mm

Giant Ferris Wheel

Although it has some of the best views of the city, the architechture is also spectacular! 1/2000 sec at f/5.3, ISO 400, 105mm. Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 18-200.

The thing I like best about this photo is that the sea and sky are silky from the long exposure while the container ship was amazingly still!
