Sacre Coeur

In the 18th arrondissement, at the top of Montmartre, sits Sacre Coeur Basilica. The white marble beauty of the structure oversees the lively village below. This was taken from the second deck of the Eiffel Tower. 1/2000 sec at f/6.3, ISO 800, 200mm

Topiary

This is still a fan-favorite shot of a topiary at Schonbrunn Palace. I like the balance of autumnal colors. HDR. f/3.5, ISO 400, 18mm. Nikon D7000 and Nikon 18-200VR.

Belvedere Palace

Amsterdam Canal

The canals of Amsterdam are truly integrated into city life. Not only do people life on their boats, they also park their bicycles at the edge of the water. In fact, each year, several cars fall into the canal while parallel parking up to the edge! 1/60 sec at f/13, ISO 400, 62mm

Seven Bridges

Taken under the seventh bridge, this incredible scene shows the life of the canals in Amsterdam. It was not easy to frame this from the moving boats, but I was able to fire off enough shots to capture this one. 1/160 sec at f/11, ISO 400, 130mm

Gold Door

The intricacy of artwork in this one of many similar doors really spoke to me. In Jaipur Palace, the royalty are real and revered. Their palace reflects their position in society. 1/250 sec at f/6.3, ISO 400, 90mm

Kilauea

The sights, sounds and smells of a live volcano are worth experiencing at least once. Taken from the edge of the larger caldera, the active lava lake of Kilauea shines during the night. You can see the stars above the roiling magma in this handheld exposure. 1/25 sec at f/1.4, ISO 800, 35mm

Marie Antoinette's Chalet

On the grounds of Versaille, Marie Antoinette maintained a private farm. So quaint and beautiful. 1/60 sec at f/11, ISO 200, 46mm. Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 18-200 DX.

Magical Kingdom
